Understanding the Process

What is a Pakistan Letter of Invitation?

A Letter of Invitation (LOI) is a signed letter from a government-registered Pakistani tour operator confirming that the operator is responsible for a visitor during their stay. It's uploaded near the end of the official Pakistan e-visa application, alongside your passport photo and passport copy.

While Pakistan's e-visa system technically allows a hotel booking confirmation as an alternative for a first-time visit, applications submitted with only a hotel booking are frequently delayed or later asked to provide an LOI anyway. An LOI is required for every visa extension and for exit permit requests.

Apply only through the official portal

Pakistan e-visa applications must be submitted at visa.nadra.gov.pk — the only official government e-visa system. Be cautious of unofficial third-party sites requesting extra fees.

Common Questions

Pakistan visa & LOI FAQ.

Do I really need a Letter of Invitation for a Pakistan e-visa?

An LOI isn't always strictly mandatory for a first e-visa application — a hotel booking can sometimes substitute — but applications without one are far more likely to be delayed or asked to provide one anyway. It's also required for every visa extension.

Why does a Letter of Invitation cost money?

Once we issue your LOI, we're formally accountable for your visit with Pakistani authorities — including responding to routine verification calls — and we remain a point of contact for questions during your trip. The fee covers this responsibility and the preparation of your documents.

Where do I apply for my Pakistan e-visa?

Only through the official NADRA e-visa portal at visa.nadra.gov.pk. Avoid unofficial third-party sites that charge extra or misrepresent themselves as the official application system.

Where do I submit the Letter of Invitation?

You upload it near the end of your e-visa application, in the same section where you submit your passport photo and passport copy.

How many times can I extend my Pakistan tourist visa?

Extensions are typically granted in increments of up to 90 days, and can generally be renewed multiple times. Requesting more than roughly six months of total stay can trigger a special security clearance process that takes considerably longer, so shorter, sequential extensions are usually faster.

Do I need a new LOI for every visa extension?

Yes — a fresh Letter of Invitation is required for each extension request. We can issue a new one quickly since we'll already have your details on file.

Can Kingdom Gateway host mission teams and NGO groups for their LOI?

Yes. We regularly coordinate LOIs for multi-traveler mission and NGO teams alongside our broader group logistics services.
